what's happening at IONA?
New York Fashion Week AW12 - Runway Review - Womenswear
Here at IONA we have kept our eyes peeled for the latest looks on the New York runway and the collections this year are outstanding.
Peter Som
Smouldering femininity mixed with masculine shapes was the key theme for Peter Som’s collection. Constructed lines and monochromic colour blocking gave the collection a strong essence of female power dressing.
Alexander Wang
Structured leather outerwear and military strictness gave a sporty, tomboy look. Super shiny finishes paired with soft draping added a contemporary feel to the collection.

Sally Lapointe
A quietly recognised designer for Lady Gaga, Sally Lapointe is clearly inspired by 1970s disco for her A/W12 collection. Silhouettes are understated but edgy to create a feminine, sexy feel.

VPL
Earth toned colour blocking gave an edgy approach to skin-tight body–con paired with constructed chunky knits.

Rag & Bone
Sophisticated layering and metallic copper tones was a perfect combination for Rag & Bone’s AW12 collection. Sharp tailoring with leather details injected a modern, hard edge to silhouettes.

SUNO
SUNO showcased a collection of structured pieces with a mix of innovative patterns. Candy stripes, polka dots and florals created a contrast against boxy silhouettes.
