what's happening at IONA?

We told you so!

Our trends have been predicted for SS12 and we were right! All three commercial looks, Colour Blocking, Polka Dots and Florals, have all been spotted on the runway for SS12. This is what we predicted earlier last month for SS12 Key Trends and here's what we've found...

Colour Blocking  - Take a look at the loud and proud colour combinations
Colour Blocking is one of the most wearable Fashion Trends for SS12. It’s an inspired mix of fresh, bright hues clashed to create a modern chic look.

Marc Jacobs’ spring collection consisted of colour-blocked pieces that resembled striking geometric shapes. Vivid colour popped on the runway with flashes of scarlet red, ink, Prussian blue, grass green, navy blue, fuchsia, indigo and orange.

Peter Som embraced a youthful look, with playful silhouettes and clashing accessories. A striking combination of red, cobalt, and lemon yellow added a vibrant twist to the collection.

Polka Dot – Spotted on the runway!
The most classic print of SS12 has to be the polka dot. It exudes a youthful flair, but still remains incredibly chic and timeless.

Sass & Bide SS12 collection was fresh and dynamic with a sporty reference in most pieces. An eclectic mix of acid brights clashing with polka dots gave the collection a sense of youthfulness.

Marc Jacobs resort collection consisted of cute, polka dot summer dresses. Dainty bows gave pieces a bold statement whilst the geek chic glasses added an eccentric twist to girlish silhouettes.

Floral - Meet Spring's delightfully mixed bunch of new season florals
Designers from all around the globe have used the persisting trend of florals for Spring/Summer almost every year. This season however shows a modern take to the trend and designers have breathed life into this feminine look.

Christopher Kane created innovative versions of the trend by showcasing flowery organza shift dresses and coats that resembled 3D influences.

Valentino’s full-length gowns embraced a more intricate approach with floral appliqué which essence modern romance.
